Enroll in the Country’s First-Ever
Online Senior High School

On 2013, Former President Benigno Aquino III approved the Enhanced Basic Education Act, commonly referred to as the K-12 Act. The goal of the K-12 system is to equip students with the knowledge and skills that will help them prepare for their desired career path.

While the K-12 curriculum offers holistic education for Filipino students, not many can enroll in a conventional school. Some students, for instance, are unable to attend regular classes due to geographic, economic, and physical limitations.

The good news is that these students have the opportunity to finish K-12 by taking advantage of the country’s open high school program (OHSP). This alternative mode of education is ideal for irregular high school students and elementary school graduates who want to finish secondary education. These individuals may sign up for a school that offers an online K-12 program.

Advantages Of Enrolling In An Online K-12 School

Individuals who choose to complete their secondary education via the online K-12 program can enjoy the following benefits:
  • Self-Paced Learning

Some students are unable to keep up with the learning speed set by traditional schools. With online education, they can learn elementary and high school subjects at their pace. Learners have the option to breeze through a topic that they understand easily. They can allot more time on a subject that’ is a bit more challenging to grasp. Another benefit is that students don’t have to attend review sessions after school hours to learn more about a particular lesson. They can simply reach out to their teacher or instructor online when they need help understanding a specific topic.

  • Open and Encouraging Classroom Environment

Students enrolled in online K-12 can join in active discussions with their fellow learners and teachersin classroom discussion boards. This platform allows students to express their ideas openly without the pressure of physically speaking in front of the whole class. Shy kids will be able to thrive socially in this environment, as they can talk and interact with other people in anenvironment they’re comfortable with.

  • Individualized Schedules

While online K-12 students are still required to complete and submit assignments and projects on the due date set by their teacher, they do not need to adhere to the schedules of a traditional school. They have the option to attend classes during non-traditional hours.

  • Affordable Tuition and Daily Allowance

Students who are studying in a conventional school have to pay for expensive books, transportation (public transport or school service), and other resource materials. Enrolling in an online K-12 program eliminates the extra spending for these other things, which are not the core of learning. Studentscan access and download the educational resources they need from the school website. Also, miscellaneous fees often cover classroom overhead and other necessities in a traditional school, which an online K-12 program has no use for.
